Yvon Buissereth, former senator from the South and current director of the public company for the promotion of social housing (EPPLS) and his driver were killed, in Laboule 12 where the gang leader called Little Monkey was making the powder talk for long hours in the afternoon of Saturday August 6, 2022.
The Justice of the Peace of Pétion-Ville, Noël Clément, questioned by Le Nouvelliste on Sunday around midnight, indicated that it was decided to transport the charred corpses to the Pétion-Ville police station in order to draw up the official report.
“Little Monkey and his boys are on the floor,” sources said shortly before the sharing, in the early evening, of a video showing two charred bodies in a still smoking Toyato Land Cruiser. In the background of the voiceover, you could hear bursts of automatic weapons.
Prime Minister Ariel Henry, head of the CSPN, condemned this act. “I vigorously and unreservedly condemn the barbaric act perpetrated yesterday by armed gangs from Laboule against the director general of the EPPLS, Yvon Buissereth, former senator of the Republic,” declared Ariel Henry.
“His assassins, as well as all the other criminals who sow mourning in the country, will be prosecuted in their last entrenchment and must answer for their ignominious acts before justice. I encourage the #PNH to increase its efforts to continue to track down bandits of all kinds who are bloodying our society,” he said.
The president of what remains of the Senate, Joseph Lambert, spoke of a shocking assassination and the urgency that an end be put to these acts. “This is yet another shocking murder that brings tears to our eyes. The Senate, the people of the South and his colleagues know how much he loved Haiti,” Senate President Joseph Lambert tweeted mid-evening on Saturday, August 6, 2022. “This situation cannot continue,” added Joseph Lambert who presents his sympathies to the family and friends of former Senator Buissereth, current DG of the EPPLS.
This double assassination, in Laboule 12 and this show of force by Little Monkey comes at a time when the police have intensified their hunt for the 400 Mawozo gang in Croix-des-Bouquets and that of Canaan.
